Working under the name Prints by the Bay, illustrator & printmaker Nicole Revy creates beautiful, thought-provoking and emotionally engaging hand printed linocuts on the Dorset coast. Her collection of prints & cards are lovingly created using ethically sourced materials and methods. She trained in Illustration at the Arts University Bournemouth, spending several years after graduating in 2007 creating murals and art for live events and festivals, before experimenting with the linocut technique back in 2019. Nicole’s work in linocut examines connections between people and place; often dealing with the female experience. Much of her work addresses ideas of nature, climate, and the human connection we have to our environment. The printmaker creates all her print work in her studio in Bridport, Dorset, using a Gunning etching press. With a dedicated social media audience, Nicole shares her practice with her followers through Instagram, selling her prints online as well as working on many commercial illustration projects for big name brands, and exhibiting regularly around the world.
